Get in touch

Brown Pelican is made by one person. Email jferrara24@gmail.com with a question, a bug, or a feature idea and you’ll get a reply from a human — usually within a few days.

The app can write the email for you: Settings → Send Feedback opens a draft with your app version, iOS version, and device model already filled in. That context saves a round trip, so please use it for bug reports.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone, and nowhere else. There is no account and no server — so there is also no password to reset and nothing to recover remotely. See the privacy policy for the detail.

How do I back up or move my data?

Settings → Export Data writes a JSON file containing every event, contact, and follow-up, and lets you save or send it wherever you like. Import Data restores from one. Importing replaces everything currently in the app, so export first if you’re unsure.

The app crashed or froze. What should I send?

Settings → Export Diagnostics produces a file of the crash and hang reports iOS recorded for the app on your device. Nothing is transmitted unless you choose to share that file. Attaching it to an email is the single most useful thing you can do for a crash report.

Why is the app asking for camera, calendar, or microphone access?

Each permission is requested only when you first use the feature that needs it, and declining only disables that feature. The privacy policy lists each one and what it is used for.

How do I remove the sample data?

Settings → Remove Sample Data, or the same button on the Insights tab. It deletes only the starter events added during onboarding — anything you created yourself is untouched.
